Embroidery file squirrel from the series Forest Children (free standing lace)
This adorable and curious squirrel peeks through its wreath, which is crafted here using free-standing lace (FSL). Free-standing lace means that the circular lace embroidery will be transparent. Your sewing machine will stitch the lace all by itself. It's wonderful for candle holders, gift wrapping, and much more. All you need in addition is a water-soluble stabilizer, such as Madeira Avalon Plus or Soluvlies. Place two layers of this stabilizer under your fabric for embroidery and follow the included illustrated instructions. After embroidery, the stabilizer dissolves completely by briefly soaking it in lukewarm water, leaving behind a fine, transparent thread that you can beautifully showcase. These angels are also available in a version without free-standing lace.
