This funny Christmas embroidery design brings good cheer to every sewing room: three chickens sit together on a branch, one in a Santa hat, one in a blue scarf and one balancing a Christmas bauble, all wrapped in a colorful string of lights. A cheerful Christmas design for your embroidery machine and the 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) hoop.

The chickens are decorating for Christmas too, and they are in their usual good spirits. Things get a little chaotic, and the trickier tasks sometimes have to be caught with full commitment. But good balance is key for all of us, isn't it?

The Christmas Chickens look wonderful on tea towels, napkins, pot holders, cushions, Christmas cards or in a small embroidery hoop. If you love chickens, you will find even more feathered friends in my Chickens collection.

The chickens are part of my Christmas collection Weihnachtsfreuden (Christmas Delights), together with the Christmas Garland with Mouse and Robin, the Mouse Decorating the Christmas Tree, the two mice Under the Mistletoe, the bunny with the Christmas Mail and the Mini Set with ITH Heart. Like all my designs, I drew this one by hand before my test team stitched it out.

For firm, non-stretch woven fabric of at least 140 g/m² (4.1 oz/yd²), such as cotton or linen, with a sufficiently firm tear-away stabilizer, approx. 50 g/m² (1.5 oz/yd²), used double. My sample is stitched on linen.
